Holiday plans are ever changing this year not only for Brits but for everyone who intends to take one as the recession is still hitting hard. The pound has fallen significantly over the past year or so meaning that the huge family trip to America or the small week break to Spain may have to wait until next year. This in turn is meaning that this year many British are choosing to holiday in Britain itself.
The worst thing about the pound is that it is not only suffering against the Euro heavily this year but also the dollar which of course will only start getting better when the government does something about it. Of course what everyone needs when going either to Europe or the USA or in fact anywhere is travel insurance and this is equally as important even when holidaying in Britain.
Although a huge benefit on holidaying in Britain is that you will not need to take out medical insurance as obviously you are already covered anywhere in the UK under the NHS. Of course nobody expects something to go wrong on or before a holiday but sometimes it does which is why having travel insurance will protect you from any booking fees or anything along those lines that you would not usually be able to get back.
Why is insurance even worth the cash? Sticking to the UK this summer means that the insurance is actually going to be a lot cheaper than paying for it to go abroad. Cancellations or not insurance will cover you from almost anything you can think of. Many travel insurance policies available will actually protect you from loss of personal items which is necessary as the problem does just not go away simply because you are sticking to the UK. Be careful that your home insurance doesn’t already cover you from loss of possessions away from home though or you will be paying for the same thing twice.
After all taking a holiday is supposed to be to relieve you of all the stress that builds up during the year and the last thing you want to happen is for something bad to occur and not have any insurance.
